Air passes through a perforated inner core wrapped in 50mm of high-density, non-flammable mineral wool, which absorbs sound energy as it moves through rather than blocking it. Fitted inline with standard round ducting, it drops straight into an existing extraction run on the intake or exhaust side of a fan.

Key Benefits

Absorbs airflow noise across the full octave range, cutting mid and high frequencies hardest where fan whine is most noticeable

Galvanised steel body built for long-term durability in a running ventilation system

50mm acoustic mineral wool lining, non-flammable and packed for maximum sound absorption

Rubber-sealed connections keep the duct run air-tight so no efficiency is lost at the joint

No major restriction to airflow, so the fan keeps working at the speed the room needs

Quietening a Fan Without Turning It Down

Extraction that runs constantly is the reason a fan gets turned down in a flat, loft or shared space - and turning it down costs airflow, raises humidity and invites the poor air exchange behind mould and weak, stretched growth. A silencer takes noise out of that decision, so the fan can run at the speed the space actually needs.

How to Use

Install inline with an existing fan and ducting run, on the intake or exhaust side

Fit downstream of the fan or air handling unit for the best noise reduction, and add a second silencer upstream for maximum effect

Secure with ducting clamps at both spigots and connect ducting to each end

Support the weight of the silencer independently rather than leaving it hanging on the ducting alone

Technical Specifications

Brand: Blauberg

Construction: Galvanised steel, 50mm high-density mineral wool acoustic lining

Length: 600mm

Sizes: 250mm (10") and 315mm (12") duct connections

Noise reduction: Up to 22dB at 1000Hz (250mm) / up to 17dB at 1000Hz (315mm)

Connections: Rubber-sealed spigots

Fitting: Inline with round ducting, either direction
