The Omega Parabolic Reflector mounts the lamp vertically rather than horizontally, so heat intensity rises up and out through the top of the reflector instead of being driven straight down onto the plants. Omega recommends it specifically for growers battling heat issues, where a conventional horizontal reflector aims both light and heat directly at the canopy. The light is reflected down onto the plants rather than beamed at them, which tends to give more even coverage, better yields and healthier plants.

Running too hot under a horizontal reflector?

Excess radiant heat from an overhead lamp raises canopy temperature, closes stomata and slows growth even when everything else is dialled in. Because the parabolic design carries that heat upward and reflects the light back down, plants get the output without the direct heat load.

How to Use

• Fit your lamp into the reflector with the bulb mounted vertically as designed.
• Hang centrally above the canopy and do a hand test at plant height to gauge heat.
