Deep Water Culture

Deep water culture systems for rapid, oxygen-rich growth

DWC suspends roots directly in an oxygenated nutrient solution instead of a medium, which cuts out the guesswork around watering and lets plants take up nutrients and oxygen at the same time. It is faster than most other methods but also less forgiving: lose air to the water for a few hours and roots can suffocate, so a working air pump and air stone in every bucket is not optional.

Single buckets through to full RDWC rooms

The Oxypot range is the entry point: the Single Kit (£27.95) runs one 19L bucket, while the v4, v6 and v9 Complete Kits (£62-£95) step up bucket size for bigger single plants. Once you are running multiple plants that need to feed and drain together, Alien RDWC systems link buckets on a shared recirculating line, from the 4-pot Black Series (from £435) up to the 48-pot PRO Silver Series (from £3,595) for serious multi-light rooms. The Alien V-System (£2,425) is the compact vertical option where floor space is tight.

What you will also need

Every DWC system needs constant aeration, a stable reservoir temperature and a way to top up as plants drink. Pair your buckets with tanks & reservoirs, an air pump sized to your bucket count, and check pH daily, since DWC solution drifts faster than soil or coco. If gravity-fed simplicity suits you better than active aeration, our AutoPot systems are the power-free alternative.
