Plant support and training

Hold the weight up.

Netting, canes, clips and ties that carry the weight of a loaded plant and hold stems where you put them. Choose on how much movement you want: a fixed net spreads a canopy, soft ties bend a stem slowly.

Nothing matches all of those filters.

Plant support and training for heavier flowers

A flowering canopy loaded with fruit or buds will snap an unsupported branch — plant support is cheap insurance against losing a top cola three weeks before chop. Lockable YO-YO's (£5.95) hang from the roof bars and take the weight off individual branches as they stretch, adjustable in seconds without retying anything. For a full canopy, elastic Scrog netting (from £8.95) or the sturdier cotton crop support net (from £8.95) spreads growth horizontally for even light across every bud site, not just the top third of the plant.

For low-stress training earlier in veg, a Bendz plant training device (£4.95) bends stems without snapping them, opening up the canopy before flower stretch begins. Bamboo canes (from £4.95) and a collapsible circular plant trellis (from £4.45) suit single heavy colas or bushier plants that need a light frame rather than a full net.

Scrog or stake — which one

Scrog nets take longer to set up and mean weaving growth through as it develops, but reward you with a flat, even canopy and better light penetration than staking alone. Stakes and yoyos are faster to fit and better suited to a smaller number of plants or a tent you're not training heavily. Heavy flowering strains benefit most — see our flowering boosters if yield is the goal. Free UK delivery over £60, or call 020 3488 0419 for training advice.
