Description
Tie in stems in one squeeze instead of fiddling with twine
The Easy Grow Plant Strapper is a hand-held plant tying tool: hook it round a stem and its support, squeeze the handles, and it wraps a loop of ribbon tape round both and closes it with a staple in one action. It is the quick way to tie tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, climbing beans, vines and soft fruit to canes, strings, wires and trellis, in a greenhouse, polytunnel, grow tent or outdoor bed, and it leaves the other hand free to hold the plant in place.
Key Benefits
- One-squeeze tying – loops the tape and staples it closed in a single action
- Much faster than twine or clips when there are dozens of stems to tie in
- A loose loop, not a tight knot – the tape holds the stem to its support without biting into it
- Works on canes, strings, wires and trellis, indoors and outdoors
- Ready to use – supplied with staples and ribbon tape as standard, and the magazine holds 200 staples per load
Stems flopping, snapping or slow to tie in?
Fast-growing vining and fruiting crops need tying in every few days, and heavy trusses snap stems that have slipped down their supports. Tying by hand with twine is slow and easy to over-tighten, which pinches stems as they thicken. The Plant Strapper puts a consistent, slightly loose loop on every tie, so plants stay upright, airflow through the canopy stays open and the job takes a fraction of the time.
How to Use
- Load the tape: open the tape-holder cover, drop the roll in as shown in the instructions and snap it shut, then pull the tape down to set it
- Load the staples: pull the pusher out of the magazine, drop up to 200 staples in with the legs pointing down and push it back
- Tie: squeeze lightly so the hook pulls the tape out, place the tape round the stem and support, then squeeze firmly to staple and cut the loop
- If the tape catcher misses on the first squeeze, press the handles firmly a few more times until it catches
- Leave room in each loop for the stem to thicken
