Measuring and dosing

Get the dose right.

Jugs, syringes, scales and handheld testers for mixing feed to a recipe. Small volumes are where the mistakes happen, so a graduated syringe and a set of scales matter more than the size of the mixing tank.

Nothing matches all of those filters.

Measuring jugs and cups for mixing nutrient solutions

Mixing a 10L or 25L reservoir accurately starts with a jug you can actually read. Our measuring jugs and cups (from £0.50) cover everything from a small propagation feed to a full tank mix, marked clearly enough to hit a ml/L dose without guessing at the meniscus. Buy a couple of sizes — a 1L jug for topping up small containers, a larger one for filling reservoirs from the tap.

For precise small-volume dosing of boosters and additives, pair a jug with syringes (from £0.10) rather than trying to eyeball a few ml into a full jug — see our syringes and dosing tools range.

Buying advice

Keep your mixing jug for nutrients only and never for anything you'd use in the kitchen — residue from a strong base feed or pH down is not something you want anywhere near food prep. Check your mix afterwards with a pH or EC meter rather than trusting the jug markings alone. Spend £60 and UK delivery is free — or skip the wait and collect in Wembley.
