Tanks and reservoirs for your hydro system
The reservoir is the heart of any recirculating or gravity-fed system: everything else pumps from it, drains into it or tops up from it. Our FlexiTank collapsible water butts (from £44.95) fold flat for storage when not in use and hold from 100L upward, which suits AutoPot and EasyFeed setups that need a header tank raised above the pots. Sized correctly, one tank should hold at least a day or two of feed for your plant count so you are not refilling constantly.
Keeping reservoir temperature stable
Cold feed water shocks roots and slows uptake, especially through winter in an unheated grow room. A Hailea water heater (from £14.95) holds reservoir temperature around 18-20°C, keeping roots active and helping stop the swings that encourage root disease in recirculating systems. Pair your tank with irrigation pumps to feed from it, air pumps to keep it oxygenated if plants draw straight from it, and pipe sized to your pump's outlet to connect everything up.
