Description

A Slim 100 Litre Reservoir That Fits Where Round Tanks Won't

The Slim Space Saver Water Butt is a rigid, heavy-duty 100 litre water butt with a narrow footprint of about 36 × 32 cm, so it stands in the corner of a grow tent, against a greenhouse wall or beside a downpipe without taking over the floor. Use it as a nutrient reservoir for gravity-fed systems such as AutoPot, as a supply tank for pumped irrigation, as a back-up solution tank for gully and DualFlow systems, or to collect rainwater for watering.

Key Benefits

  • 100 litre capacity in a tall, slim body that saves floor space.
  • Rigid, heavy-duty build – holds its shape full or empty and stands securely on its own.
  • Dark, opaque wall – keeps light out of stored water and nutrient solution, which discourages algae.
  • Lid and base tap – fill from the top and draw off at the bottom.
  • Gravity-feed ready – raise it on a stand to supply AutoPot and other gravity-fed systems.
  • Rainwater storage – collect soft, low-mineral rainwater as a clean starting point for feeding.

Short on Floor Space for a Reservoir?

A round tank or flexible reservoir of the same volume takes a big bite out of a tent or greenhouse floor, leaving less room for plants and airflow. A slim butt stores 100 litres upright, so the space goes to growing instead. Collecting rainwater helps too: in hard-water areas tap water carries calcium carbonate that pushes pH up and uses part of the EC budget before any nutrient goes in, while rainwater gives a cleaner base for consistent nutrient uptake.

How to Use

  • Position: stand it on firm, level ground – 100 litres of water weighs about 100 kg.
  • Gravity feed: raise it on a stand (sold separately) so the water level sits above the pots or system it supplies.
  • Pumped irrigation: lower a submersible pump in through the top and run the feed line out under the lid.
  • Cover: keep the lid on to block light and keep out debris and insects.
  • Clean: empty and rinse it between batches of nutrient solution so residue and algae cannot build up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use it with an AutoPot system?

Yes – it is made for gravity-fed systems such as AutoPot. Set it on a stand so the reservoir sits above the pots, then connect the system's supply line at the base.

Does it come with a stand?

No, the stand is sold separately. Raising the butt gives gravity-fed systems the head of water they need and makes it easier to fill a watering can from the tap.

Will it fit in a grow tent?

At about 36 × 32 cm across and 96 cm tall it takes up very little floor space. If you plan to raise it on a stand inside a tent, check the tent's height first.
