Propagation nutrients for seedlings and cuttings
Young roots burn easily, so everything in this category is formulated at a fraction of the strength of a normal base feed. As a rule of thumb, start seedlings and fresh cuttings at around a quarter to half strength of whatever base feed you'll move onto later, and only step up once you see new growth. Overfeeding at this stage is the single most common reason a propagation tray stalls.
Growth Technology Formulex is built specifically as a first-feed formula — low in salts, gentle enough for seedlings from day one. VitaLink Plant Start and Canna Vega Start do a similar job, giving young plants a complete but mild feed before they're ready for a full-strength schedule. For cuttings rather than seedlings, Clonex Rooting Gel and Clonex Mist support the rooting process itself rather than feeding the plant, and pair well with Canna Rhizotonic once roots appear.

A propagation tray that looks stalled is more often overfed than underfed, so if growth has stopped after a couple of weeks, check your feed strength before assuming you need a stronger product rather than a weaker dose of what you've already got.
