Fabric pots for denser, healthier root growth

A root that hits the wall of a fabric pot doesn't circle back on itself the way it does in plastic — the air exposure at the fabric surface stops it dead and triggers new root branching instead. That air-pruning effect is why fabric pots consistently produce a denser, more fibrous root ball than the same size plastic pot, and it's the main reason growers switch. The trade-off is that fabric pots dry out faster than plastic since moisture evaporates through the sides as well as the top — expect to water more often, especially in a warm tent. They're also not the cheapest way to pot up in bulk, so weigh that against the root benefit if you're running a lot of plants.

Sizing and reuse

Size the same way you would a plastic pot — bigger for a final flowering plant, smaller through veg — and rinse them out between grows rather than binning them, which is where fabric earns back its higher upfront cost.
