Shogun Fertilisers

Built for British water.

Formulated in Sheffield for the harder tap water most of the UK runs, so growers here need less Cal-Mag correction on top.

Nothing matches all of those filters.

Why Shogun suits UK water

Most of the UK runs hard tap water, generally somewhere between 150 and 350 ppm before anything is added. A feed formulated for soft water assumes it has to supply calcium and magnesium itself, and used on hard water it stacks those elements on top of what is already there, which locks out other nutrients.

The Samurai base feeds are built the other way round, for water that already carries a mineral load. In practice that means growers here tend to need less Cal-Mag correction on top, and see fewer of the lockout problems that come from over-supplying calcium.

There are three Samurai lines — Coco, Terra for soil and potting mixes, and Hydro in hard and soft water versions. On top of those, Katana Roots handles root development, Silicon strengthens cell walls, Zenzym keeps the root zone clean, and Sumo Boost and PK Warrior 9/18 are the second-half additives.

Shogun is formulated and made in the UK, which also means the stock we hold is current rather than imported in large infrequent batches.

Shogun — British-made coco and terra feeds

Shogun Fertilisers are made in the UK, which keeps a lid on cost compared to imported Dutch or American ranges without cutting corners on the formula. Samurai Coco A&B uses SmartZen technology for the coco line and Samurai Terra Grow and Terra Bloom use AquaZen for soil and terra growers — two distinct chemistries rather than one feed stretched across media.

PK Warrior 9/18 is a straightforward late-flower PK boost, Katana Roots covers propagation and transplants, and Dragon Force, Geisha Foliar, Sumo Boost and Zenzym round out a full veg-to-harvest additive line. Shogun Silicon and CalMag are the two most commonly paired add-ons for coco growers running RO water. If you want the whole system without picking bottles individually, the Coco Multipack and Terra Multipack bundle the full range for coco or soil respectively at a lower cost per litre than buying separately.

Coco A&B is usually the strongest-value starting point for new coco growers on this site, and the SmartZen and AquaZen technology is Shogun's answer to the pH-stabilising claims made by pricier imported brands. See base feeds to compare Samurai against Canna and Dutch Pro, and our feeding in coco guide for dosing basics. Multipacks and single bottles, free UK delivery over £60.
