In coco the medium holds no nutrition of its own, and the margin between a clean feed and a lockout is narrow.

Guesswork Feeding, Cal-Mag Deficiency and Airy Buds

Coco is unforgiving. Get calcium and magnesium wrong and you see rusty spotting, poor nutrient uptake and slow growth; get bloom wrong and you finish with airy buds and low yields. A single matched range removes those variables - roots establish fast, silicon builds a frame that carries weight, and the PK and ripener land in time to fill the flowers.

How to Use

  • Week 1, early veg: Coco A&B 1-2ml/L, CalMag 1ml/L, Katana Roots 1-2ml/L, Silicon 1ml/L.
  • Week 2, veg: Coco A&B 2-3ml/L, CalMag 1ml/L, Katana Roots 1-2ml/L, Silicon 1ml/L.
  • Week 3, late veg: Coco A&B 3ml/L, CalMag 1ml/L, Katana Roots 1ml/L, Silicon 1ml/L.

Note — Katana Roots is deliberately left out of the table: the schedule above gives 0.5 to 2 ml per litre, while Shogun's own product catalogue publishes a 5 ml per litre dilution rate for it. Until that is resolved, follow the rate printed on the Katana Roots bottle. Use equal amounts of Coco A and Coco B, and add them to the water separately — never premix concentrated Shogun products. Set pH to 5.8 to 6.2 before feeding. Check pH and EC after mixing.
