The full range
Extractor fans for grow tents and rooms
The extractor fan sets the climate in the tent. It pulls warm, damp air out through the carbon filter and draws fresh air in behind it, so it controls heat, humidity and smell all at once. To size one, multiply the tent's length, width and height in metres to get its volume, multiply that by 60 air changes an hour, then add 20 to 25% for the resistance of the filter and ducting.
We stock fans from 4" (100mm) to 14" (355mm). The Systemair RVK, G.A.S Air, Mammoth TT and Revolution Stratos are simple, dependable AC fans. EC fans cost more but run quieter, use less power and turn down smoothly: the AC Infinity CLOUDLINE range, VIVOSUN AeroZesh, Phresh HyperFan, Mammoth Juiced, TrolMaster Aero, Rhino Ultra Silent and Revolution Vector. Where noise matters most, the Can-Fan IsoMax and Q-Max, the silenced Revolution fans and the Airfan and acoustic box fans keep it down.
Getting the size right
Round up rather than down. A 6" fan on half speed is quieter than a 5" fan flat out, and it leaves headroom for a hot week in July. Match the diameter to your filter, keep the ducting short and straight, and use a fan controller, or an EC fan's own dial, to turn it down when the tent does not need full extraction.
