Description

Box fan airflow in a light, quiet foam case – for less

This Acoustic Foam Box Fan houses a centrifugal squirrel-cage fan in a moulded EPP foam case with galvanised steel spigots. The foam damps motor noise and vibration and weighs far less than an MDF box, so it is easier to lift into place, bracket or shelve. It comes in 10 inch (250mm) and 12 inch (315mm) duct sizes, moving from 1,500 to 4,250 m³/h depending on the model, with a fitted power lead on a metal rating plate.

Key Benefits

  • 1,500 to 4,250 m³/h – sized for large tents through to full grow rooms
  • EPP foam housing absorbs noise and vibration and does not swell or rot in humid rooms
  • Much lighter than MDF box fans – easier to mount high or on a shelf
  • Right-angled layout – inlet on the side, outlet on the front – for tidy corner installs
  • Galvanised steel spigots for a firm, clamp-tight duct connection
  • Straightforward value – the same box-fan format as the branded foam fans without the brand premium

Heat, humidity and fan noise in a bigger grow space

Once a tent or room outgrows an inline fan, heat and humidity climb under the lights and a small fan run flat out gets loud. A box fan brings a much larger centrifugal fan to the same duct size, and the foam case keeps the noise and vibration in the box rather than in the joists – so temperature and airflow stay under control without the racket.

How to Use

  • Choose the size by your ducting (10 or 12 inch) and room volume – aim to change the air in the space at least once a minute, allowing extra for a carbon filter
  • Mount the fan on a solid shelf or bracket rather than hanging it from ducting
  • Connect ducting from your carbon filter to the inlet and from the outlet to outside, secured with jubilee clips
  • Plug in for full speed, or run it through a suitably rated AC fan speed controller or thermostat
