Why Do AC Fans Cost More to Run?

An older AC fan on a resistance-based controller draws the same power whatever speed you set, so turning it down quiets the room without saving a penny. An EC fan cuts consumption in line with the speed, and over a 24/7 extraction schedule that is where the savings stack up. It also lets you run gently and constantly rather than in bursts, keeping airflow steady and humidity under control instead of letting the room swing.

How to Use

• Match the fan to the room: it should shift the air volume of your space comfortably within the hour, allowing for lighting heat and filter resistance
• Hang it in-line using the supplied attachments, ideally after your carbon filter
• Dial in the speed on the supplied controller once temperature and humidity have settled
• Run it slower for longer rather than flat out in bursts – quieter and cheaper
