Add the powder and the water, switch it on, and a vortex in the top tank keeps the whole volume turning over for as long as you leave it running - no stirring, no paddle, and no grit left sitting in the bottom. What you are making is a concentrate, not a finished feed - those 20 litres dilute out into a reservoir many times the size, so this is a mixing vessel rather than a tank you feed from.

Undissolved Powder Is Feed You Have Paid For and Cannot Use

Powdered nutrients need both time and movement to go fully into solution, and a quick stir with a jug gives them neither. Whatever fails to dissolve drops out as sediment, so part of the feed never reaches the roots at all, the EC reads lower than the recipe promised, and the grit that does get pumped onward goes on to block drippers, filters and pump inlets. Thick organic inputs behave worse still, clinging to the sides so the mix runs strong at the start of a batch and weak by the end - which shows up as poor nutrient uptake and uneven growth across a room that should be uniform. Mixing overnight in a vortex takes the guesswork out: everything is in solution before it goes anywhere near the reservoir.

How to Use

• Fill to the line: add water up to the marked 20 litre fill line
• Add the powder: weigh out the dose for the total reservoir volume you intend to make up, not for the 20 litres in the bucket
• Switch on and leave it: run it overnight for powdered feeds and thick organics, or a few hours for anything that dissolves readily
• Check before you use it: no grit in the bottom and no film on the surface
• Dilute into the reservoir: If desired you can add the concentrate to a bigger tank, top up to volume, then confirm EC and pH before feeding
• Rinse it out: especially after organics, which dry hard and are far easier to remove wet
