Description

A compact submersible pump for wherever you need to move water

Hailea HX Water Pumps are compact submersible units built to shift water from a reservoir, sump, pond or water butt with minimal fuss. Four outputs cover light duty right up to whole-reservoir turnover: the HX1500, HX2000, HX2500 and HX4500. Every pump uses a wear-resistant ceramic shaft suitable for fresh water and nutrient solution, sits on mounted suction-cup feet for a secure fix on any smooth surface, and is built for continuous operation even in low water levels.

Key Benefits

  • Four flow rates - from 400 L/hr up to 2,000 L/hr, so there is a size for a small propagator reservoir through to a full hydro tank
  • Ceramic pump shaft - handles fresh water and nutrient solution without the wear a plastic bush would take
  • Suction-cup mounting - sits securely on the base or side of a tank, even in shallow water
  • Built-in venturi air mix on the HX2500 and HX4500 - draws air into the outflow to lightly oxygenate the water as it moves
  • 19mm or 25mm pipework - connects straight onto standard hydroponic irrigation fittings
  • Compact ABS casing - anti-corrosive and rated for continuous submerged duty

Stagnant feed starves roots of oxygen

A reservoir that is not moving loses dissolved oxygen quickly, and a static feed is where root problems start. Circulating the tank with a submersible pump keeps the solution mixed and aerated, spreads heat evenly rather than letting it settle in pockets, and stops nutrient salts collecting at the bottom of the tank.

How to Use

  • Fully submerge the pump before switching on - never run it dry.
  • Press the suction feet onto a clean, flat surface at the lowest point of the tank for reliable priming.
  • Match pipework to the outlet - 19mm or 25mm flexible or solid pipe fits directly.
  • Site the HX2500 or HX4500's air line above the waterline if you want the venturi to draw in air.
  • Rinse the intake screen periodically to clear any debris and keep flow steady.
