The Workhorse Pump for Recirculating Systems

The HX88 range covers everything from a small drip run to a heavily loaded recirculating system, with flow from 1050 l/hour to 8000 l/hour and head heights of 1.4m to 5.0m. Every pump is fully immersible or can run inline outside the water, and all come with clip-on filter hoods. Where cheap pumps corrode or cook themselves on continuous duty, the HX88 uses a ceramic shaft rated for fresh and salt water - which is what makes it happy on nutrient solution - plus a double water-cooled structure and an anti-corrosive ABS case. Weak Flow at the Far End of the Line

Undersized pumps are the usual reason the back row gets a fraction of the feed the front row does. Pots dry unevenly, poor nutrient uptake and slow growth follow on the starved plants, and yields end up all over the place. Choosing on head height as well as flow rate keeps pressure at the last emitter for the whole crop.

How to Use

• Submerged: fit the hoods, press the suction cups to a clean tank base, keep it under solution.
• Inline: site it below the reservoir water level so it stays primed.
• Sizing: work out the vertical lift, then pick a model whose head height clears it.
• Fittings: connectors are 19mm on HX8810 to HX8825 and 25mm from HX8830 up.
• Maintenance: rinse the hoods when flow drops, strip the impeller between crops.
