The Trouble with Guessing Your pH

Nutrient availability lives or dies on pH. Too acidic and the solution leaches, leaving wilting and yellow spotting behind; too alkaline and solubility drops away, giving you stunted growth and iron deficiency on plants that are fully fed. Neither problem announces itself as a pH issue - they both look like feeding faults. A ten-second check before you water removes the guesswork completely.

How to Use

• Submerge the electrode end, opposite the carry strap, in your sample.
• Cover the electrode evenly up to the dotted line.
• Wait for the reading to stabilise, then read the lit number.
• For soil or coco, dampen the sample or mix it with water before testing.
• Wipe clean and store dry when you have finished.
