Description

Australian RC412 carbon odour control at a hobby price

The Rhino Hobby Carbon Filter packs the same RC412 virgin Australian carbon used in Rhino Pro into a lighter, shorter-life aluminium drum built for small and medium set-ups. Stale air is pulled through the washable pre-filter sleeve and into the carbon bed, where the huge internal surface area adsorbs odour molecules before anything leaves the building. The reversible base and spigot duct are included, and swapping them end for end gets you the full 9-12 month life.

Key Benefits

  • RC412 virgin Australian carbon - the same proven media found in the Rhino Pro range.
  • Reversible base and spigot included, putting the fresh carbon end to work and evening out wear.
  • Airflow ratings from 350 m³/h to 1420 m³/h across the size range, so the filter matches your fan properly.
  • Duct sizes from 100mm to 250mm, suiting a single-light tent up to a multi-light room.
  • Washable pre-filter sleeve keeps dust out of the carbon and airflow where it should be.
  • Lightweight build that hangs inside a tent without loading the frame.

Smell Escaping and Airflow Dropping Off

Two things go wrong with cheap filtration: odour creeps out after a few months, and a clogged sleeve chokes airflow so heat and humidity climb inside the tent. Flipping the base and spigot every 8-12 weeks spreads carbon use across the whole drum instead of exhausting one end, and rinsing the sleeve keeps extraction rates up so your fan is not fighting the filter.

How to Use

Screw on the supplied spigot duct before first use, then hang the filter inside the tent and connect it to your extractor with ducting, matching duct size and airflow rating. After each run, or every 8-12 weeks, take off the base and spigot, swap them to the opposite ends and refit. Rinse or replace the pre-filter sleeve regularly; a spare makes for a quick swap while the first dries. For two years or more of service with no flipping, step up to the Rhino Pro.
