Fan controllers for extraction
A fan controller takes the guesswork out of running your extractor at the right speed — instead of a fan flat out 24/7, a controller ramps it up or down to hold temperature (or humidity) automatically, which cuts noise and power draw on the days your tent doesn't need full extraction.
The SMSCom range covers single and twin-fan speed control from a simple dial; the SMS Hybrid Controller Pro (4A and 8A) adds thermostatic control that reacts to actual tent temperature. The Phresh HyperFan V2 Dimmer and EC Controller are built specifically for EC fans, and the VIVOSUN Grow Hub Controller ties fan speed into a wider environment monitoring setup.
Simple dial or smart EC?
A dial controller is the cheapest way to take a fan off full speed permanently; a thermostatic or EC controller costs more but reacts automatically as the tent heats up through the day, which matters most in summer or with a big HPS light. Pair with any extractor fan — EC fans in particular need an EC-rated controller, so check compatibility before you buy.
