Description

A simple, battery-free way to check your feed pH

This pH Test Kit is the original drop-test method growers used to read their nutrient mix long before digital pens took over, and it still earns its place as a reliable main method or a foolproof back-up. Add a sample of feed or runoff, drop in the reagent, and read the colour change against the supplied chart to see exactly where your pH sits - no batteries, no calibration, nothing to drift out of accuracy. Because so much poor uptake is a pH problem rather than a feed-strength one, having a meter-free way to confirm your numbers is worth keeping in every grow room.

Key Benefits

  • No batteries or calibration needed, unlike a pH pen that can fail or drift mid-grow.
  • Simple colour-match reading against a clear, easy-to-read chart.
  • Dependable back-up for when your electronic meter dies or needs recalibrating.
  • Compact and long-lasting, with enough reagent for many tests.
  • Works on feed and runoff so you can catch lockout early at both ends.

Plants not feeding despite a correct schedule?

Weak growth despite feeding correctly is very often a pH lockout, not a nutrient shortage - once the solution drifts outside the ideal 5.5-6.5 window, key nutrients become chemically unavailable to the roots. Testing feed and runoff regularly is the quickest way to catch this before deficiencies show, and a drop test gives an honest reading that never depends on a meter that could itself be out of calibration.

How to Use

  • Sample: take a small amount of nutrient solution or runoff in the supplied vial.
  • Add reagent: add the stated number of drops and swirl gently to mix.
  • Read: compare the colour against the chart to identify your pH.
  • Adjust: correct up or down with a pH adjuster, then re-test to confirm.
  • Rinse the vial thoroughly between tests to keep readings accurate.
