Airfan® Thermo Foam Box Fan

Extraction power that stays trapped in the duct, not the room next door

The Airfan Thermo Foam Box Fan houses a continuous-duty AC motor inside a moulded thermo foam (EPP) casing instead of a plain metal box, giving airflow from 1,500 m3/h up to 7,000 m3/h across 10 inch (250mm) and 12 inch (315mm) sizes. That insulated shell is the point: it dampens the vibration a metal box conducts into joists and adds a thermal barrier, so more of the noise and heat stays in the duct run rather than bleeding into a loft, a roof void or the room below.

A bare metal fan box transmits vibration into the structure it's fixed to and radiates heat into whatever surrounds it, which becomes a real nuisance when that's a loft you store things in or a room where people are trying to sleep. The insulated foam construction here absorbs that vibration and blocks radiated warmth, keeping the running noise and heat contained to the ducting itself.

How to Use

• Mount the fan in-line with your ducting on a solid surface or bracket to limit vibration transfer
• Clip ducting to both flanges: intake back to the tent or carbon filter, exhaust venting outside
• Wire it up through the pre-fitted junction box
• Add a separate speed controller or thermostat if you want adjustable output rather than full speed
