Description
Cut fan and airflow noise out of the ducting run itself, not just the fan
A Can Silencer fits directly into your ducting to absorb fan noise and the turbulent rush of air moving through the duct, tested and approved for use with most extractor fans. Even a quiet fan can generate noticeable noise once it's pushing air through metres of ducting, filters and bends — fitting a silencer in the run tackles that noise at the source rather than trying to muffle the fan itself.
Key Benefits
- Acoustically lined ducting section absorbs fan motor noise and airflow turbulence as air passes through.
- Tested and approved for use with most extractor fans on the market.
- Simple in-line fit — sits directly in the ducting run like a length of standard duct.
- Wide size range from 100mm up to 355mm flanges, covering tent fans through to large room extraction.
- Multiple lengths per flange size, so noise reduction can be matched to how much space is available.
Fan noise carrying through a house or into neighbouring rooms is one of the most common complaints from anyone growing indoors near living space. A silencer fitted between the fan and the room, or between the fan and the outlet, takes a noticeable amount of that noise out of the air before it reaches anywhere it might be heard.
How to Use
Fit the silencer directly into the ducting run, matched to your duct's flange diameter, ideally as close to the fan as practical for the biggest noise reduction. Support its weight independently of the surrounding ducting joints, and use the longest silencer that fits your available space for the greatest noise reduction.

Questions & answers
What sizes are there?
Flanges from 100mm to 355mm (4–14in), in 45cm, 50cm or 100cm lengths depending on the size.
Which length should I choose?
The longest that fits your space, as a longer silencer gives more noise reduction.
Will it work with my fan?
CAN-Filters say it's tested and approved for use with most extractor fans. Match it to your duct's flange diameter.
How does it compare with the G.A.S Duct Silencers?
Both are lined sections that sit in the duct run. The Can range adds 4in, 5in and 14in sizes, while the G.A.S silencers run from 150mm to 315mm.
Where does it work best?
As close to the fan as practical, with its weight supported separately from the ducting joints.
