Description

A feed formulated for plants that resent being fed

Cactus Focus is Growth Technology's liquid feed for cacti and succulents. These plants evolved in poor, free-draining ground and a general houseplant feed is far too rich for them - it produces soft, distorted growth that never firms up.

Key Benefits

  • Low nitrogen by design - keeps growth compact and firm rather than soft and elongated
  • Potassium weighted - supports flowering, which most cacti will do given the right feed
  • Includes chelated iron - prevents the yellowing common in free-draining, alkaline mixes
  • Simple to dose - one dilution rate through the growing season
  • Part of the Focus range - alongside the repotting mixes formulated for the same plants

Soft, stretched growth on a plant that should be compact

A cactus fed a general-purpose houseplant nutrient puts on pale, elongated growth that never hardens, and the plant becomes prone to rot at the base. The problem is nitrogen, not quantity - the feed is the wrong shape rather than too strong.

How to Use

  • Growing season: 1 ml per litre at every second watering from spring to late summer
  • Winter: stop entirely - most cacti are dormant and feeding causes rot
  • Method: water into the pot, not over the plant body
  • With repotting: start feeding a month after potting on into fresh mix
