Straight Air Stone for Hydroponic Reservoir Aeration

Oxygen-Rich Solution From Top to Bottom

A straight air stone is the simplest upgrade you can make to any reservoir. Made from porous stone with an inlet nodule at one end, it connects to an air pump with a length of airline and forces air out through thousands of tiny pores. Submerged, that produces a curtain of small bubbles along the full length of the stone, keeping the tank mixed and the surface agitated. The long, slim shape sits along the bottom of the reservoir where it does the most good. Three lengths cover most setups: 6 inch for small reservoirs, 8 inch for medium to large, and 12 inch for large to extra-large tanks.

Stagnant Water and Struggling Roots

Still nutrient solution stratifies and runs short of oxygen fast, particularly in warm rooms. Roots in that environment cannot absorb what they need, so you get slow growth and poor nutrient uptake despite a correctly mixed tank, and anaerobic conditions open the door to root rot. Running an air stone around the clock keeps the whole reservoir moving and oxygenated.

How to Use

• Size it: 6 inch for small tanks, 8 inch for medium to large, 12 inch for large to extra-large
• Connect: push airline onto the inlet nodule and run it to your air pump
• Place: lay the stone along the bottom of the reservoir, fully submerged
• Run time: continuously, 24 hours a day
• Maintenance: rinse or replace when bubble output drops as the pores block
