LED has become the default choice for indoor growing, and for good reason. A modern full-spectrum LED grow light runs far cooler than HPS, draws less electricity for the same usable light, and spreads evenly across a tent from corner to corner. Whether you are lighting a small propagation tent or a full 1.2m x 1.2m flowering space, the range here takes you from seedlings through to a heavy flower canopy.

The LED brands we stock

• Omega — strong-value full-spectrum bars that light the canopy evenly without the premium price tag, ideal for a first proper upgrade from HPS.

Matching wattage to your tent

As a rough guide, aim for around 30 to 40 watts of quality LED per square foot of canopy in flower, and less in veg. A 1m x 1m tent is well served by a 400 to 600W fixture; a 1.2m x 1.2m wants 600W or more. Buy a dimmable light wherever you can, so you can run soft over seedlings and clones, then push to full power through flower.

Height matters as much as wattage. Hang a powerful bar too low and you bleach the tops; too high and you waste light on the tent walls. Start at the manufacturer's recommended distance, watch the plants for a few days, and adjust from there.

LED or HPS?

LED wins on running cost, heat and spectrum, which is why most new grows start there. HPS still has a place for low upfront cost and raw penetration, and we stock both.
