The five micro-tip options here use stainless blades with a Teflon non-stick coating, which is the part that matters on sticky work — residue wipes off instead of building into a layer that drags. Handles are gel silicon over a spring action, with a sliding safety lock.
The 8 inch bypass is a different tool for different work: drop-forged medium-carbon and KS5 steel with a soft rubber handle, and a two-stage slider that opens the jaw to a 5/8 inch cut capacity for stems the micro-tips will not take.
Which one do I need?
- Straight — the default. Best for getting into a tight gap square-on
- Curved — follows a stem contour, easier for flush cuts against a branch
- 2 Pack — same shears, two pairs, for a second person or a spare that stays sharp
- With Cleaning Kit — adds an abrasive sponge in a jar you draw the blades through
- 8 in Bypass — for woody stems up to 5/8 inch, not for fine work
