Round air stones are circular discs of porous stone, partly cased in plastic with one side left exposed. That casing is the useful part: the stone itself is brittle, and the plastic ring protects it from the knocks that crack an unprotected stone. An inlet nodule inside the ring takes airline from your air pump, and air escapes through the pores across the exposed face, throwing off a steady sheet of small bubbles. Three sizes cover most tanks: 3 inch for small reservoirs, 4 inch for medium, and 5 inch for larger ones.

How to Use

• Size it: 3 inch for small reservoirs, 4 inch for medium, 5 inch for large
• Connect: fit airline to the inlet nodule inside the ring and run it back to the air pump
• Place: sit the stone on the bottom of the reservoir with the exposed face upwards
• Run time: continuously for consistent oxygen levels
• Maintenance: rinse between crops and replace once the pores clog and output weakens
