Description

Even Watering to Every Pot, Whatever the Pressure

The Antelco SPEC Drip PC Dripper Assembly is a ready-made pressure compensating dripper for container growing. Each assembly comes fitted with a 580mm length of 4mm tube and a 150mm locating drip stake, so you punch the dripper into your supply line, push the stake into the pot and you are watering. SPEC stands for Self-Piercing Emitter Compensating - the inlet barb pierces the pipe itself and carries a built-in filter. Choose 2, 4 or 8 L/h, colour coded blue, black and red.

Key Benefits

  • Pressure compensating - a silicone diaphragm holds the flow steady from about 0.5 to 3.5 bar
  • Self-piercing inlet with an integral filter - no separate punch needed
  • Self-flushing action at low pressure and an insect baffle to cut blockages
  • Supplied assembled with 580mm tube and 150mm locating stake
  • UV stabilised and resistant to common fertilisers and agricultural chemicals

Why Pressure Compensation Matters

On a long run of pipe, or a system fed from a pump, the pots nearest the supply get more water than the ones at the end. Some plants sit wet while others dry out, giving weak roots, uneven growth and poor nutrient uptake. A PC dripper delivers the same flow at every point on the line, so every pot in the grow room gets the same drink.

How to Use

  • Fitting: press the self-piercing barb into LDPE supply pipe (Antelco's DripMate tool makes this easier), or into a pre-punched hole
  • Placement: push the locating stake into the growing medium near the stem, angled so water lands on the root zone
  • Choosing a rate: 2 L/h for small pots and rockwool, 4 L/h for general containers, 8 L/h for large pots or short irrigation windows
  • Pressure: run the line between roughly 0.5 and 3.5 bar for compensated flow
  • Maintenance: run a drip system cleaner through the lines between crops
