Testing pH from a squeezed runoff sample only tells growers what is happening at the point of drainage, not what the roots are actually sitting in higher up in the pot. The S300 Pro2 solves that by taking its reading straight from the substrate itself — the probe is pushed directly into coco, rockwool or soil and gives an instant pH and temperature reading from right where the roots are, catching localised lockout or drift that a runoff test alone can miss.
It is aimed at coco and rockwool growers who want a more direct, more frequent way to monitor root-zone pH than periodic runoff testing allows, and at anyone troubleshooting a suspected lockout issue where knowing the exact in-medium pH matters. Like the rest of the range it uses a BNC-connector replaceable electrode, so the part that takes the physical wear of substrate insertion can be swapped without buying a new meter, and the housing is built waterproof for regular use around wet growing media.
