The Athena Utility Vessel is a general-purpose container built for the same sterile-handling standard as the Culture Vessel, but sized and shaped for holding multiple culture specimens, tools, or stock media rather than a single plantlet. It is moulded from high-temperature polypropylene so it takes repeated autoclave cycles without deforming, and it is designed to sit inside the Athena Flow Hood toolbox alongside the rest of the Culture Kit tools.
A tissue culture bench uses far more containers than just the vessels holding live plantlets — tool soak, sterile media storage, waste collection and specimen holding all need dedicated, sterilisable containers so nothing cross-contaminates. The Utility Vessel fills that gap, giving a grower a consistent, purpose-built container rather than improvising with non-sterile household plastic.
