BioNova X-ceL is a highly concentrated organic biostimulant from Dutch maker BioNova, dosed at just 5–10 ml per 10 litres of nutrient solution from the first week of growth to the final week of flowering. Its blend of kelp, humic acids, amino acids, vitamins, enzymes and natural growth factors stimulates the plant's metabolism, in particular photosynthesis and the formation of carbohydrates. With an NPK of only 1-0-0 it sits alongside the base feed in soil, coco, hydro and aero without upsetting the balance of the feed, and it is Control Union certified organic and vegan.

Heat, drought, high salt levels in the medium, ozone and strong UV all push a plant into survival mode, and the first casualties are new growth, nutrient uptake and the size of the flowers and fruit that follow. X-ceL's vitamin complex — biotin, carotenes, choline, folic acid, niacin, riboflavin and tocopherol — helps protect plants against these abiotic stresses, while its amino acids, enzymes and kelp keep the metabolism and root development moving. More of the feed becomes healthy growth, and BioNova report higher yield and quality in every crop they have tested.
How to Use
- Shake well and add X-ceL every time you make up a nutrient solution, then use that solution at every watering.
- Growth stage: 0.5 ml per litre (5 ml per 10 L).
- Early flowering: 0.5–0.8 ml per litre, stepping up over the first weeks of bloom.
- Mid and late flowering: 1 ml per litre (10 ml per 10 L) through to the final week of flowering.
- Foliar spray: 0.25–0.5 ml per litre during growth and the first week of flowering, a maximum of three times. BioNova also suggest a weekly foliar spray for mother plants and newly rooted cuttings.
- pH: add every nutrient and additive first, then adjust to 6.0–6.5 in soil, 5.5–6.5 in coco or 5.5–6.0 in hydro.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is BioNova X-ceL the same as X-Cel Pro or X-Cel Booster?
Yes. Some trade lists call it X-Cel Pro and others X-Cel Booster, but the barcodes match BioNova's own X-ceL — the same organic 1-0-0 stimulator.
Can I use X-ceL with another brand's nutrients?
X-ceL is a stimulator rather than a base feed. At 1:1000 with an NPK of 1-0-0 it adds very little to the EC of the feed, so it fits into most feeding programmes; BioNova formulate it to mix with their whole range.
Is it suitable for hydroponic and aeroponic systems?
Yes. BioNova include X-ceL at the same rates in their hydro and aero schedules as in soil and coco. Shake it well before dosing.
Can I spray X-ceL on the leaves?
Yes, at 0.25–0.5 ml per litre during growth and the first week of flowering, no more than three times.
