A Rigid 45° Turn That Keeps Ducting Airflow Smooth
The Black Orchid 45 Degree Pressed Metal Bend is a galvanised steel ducting elbow for a 150mm run, pressed rather than segmented so the internal bore stays smooth through the turn. It is made by the Blauberg Group and shares the same diameter standard as the wider Black Orchid and general European ducting range, so it fits straight onto existing 150mm ducting, fans, filters and grilles without an adapter.

Where a Flexible Duct Run Goes Wrong at a Turn
Flexible ducting folded round a 45° change of direction kinks and narrows at the bend, and a fan pulling against that restriction loses airflow it never gets back. A rigid pressed bend keeps the bore open at exactly the diameter it should be, so the extraction rate calculated for the room is closer to the one actually delivered.
How to Use
- Slide the ducting over each spigot and secure with a jubilee or worm drive clamp
- Seal the join with aluminium duct tape to stop leaks and noise
- Support the fitting with a hanger so its weight is not carried by the ducting alone
- Use in pairs to offset a run around an obstruction with two 45° turns instead of one sharp 90°
