Cut Ventilation Noise Without Losing Airflow

The Blauberg Solid Silencer is a galvanised steel duct attenuator built to quieten a running extraction system without throttling it back. Air passes through a perforated inner core wrapped in 50mm of high-density, non-flammable mineral wool, which absorbs sound energy as it moves through rather than blocking it. Fitted inline with standard round ducting, it drops straight into an existing extraction run on the intake or exhaust side of a fan.

Quietening a Fan Without Turning It Down

Extraction that runs constantly is the reason a fan gets turned down in a flat, loft or shared space - and turning it down costs airflow, raises humidity and invites the poor air exchange behind mould and weak, stretched growth. A silencer takes noise out of that decision, so the fan can run at the speed the space actually needs.

How to Use

• Install inline with an existing fan and ducting run, on the intake or exhaust side
• Fit downstream of the fan or air handling unit for the best noise reduction, and add a second silencer upstream for maximum effect
• Secure with ducting clamps at both spigots and connect ducting to each end
• Support the weight of the silencer independently rather than leaving it hanging on the ducting alone
