Know exactly how clean your water really is
The Bluelab ORP Meter measures oxidation-reduction potential — the single reading that tells you how much sanitising power is left in your solution. pH and EC tell you what is in the water; ORP tells you whether it is clean, which is what stands between a healthy root zone and a reservoir quietly turning against you.
It is a handheld unit with a backlit display, a 2 metre cable so you can reach into a full reservoir without leaning over it, and a replaceable BNC probe that needs no calibration.
Key Benefits
- No ORP calibration — take it out and read it
- Replaceable probe on a standard BNC connection, so the meter outlives the sensor
- Also accepts a Bluelab pH probe, so one meter covers two jobs (pH probe sold separately)
- KCl-filled storage cap keeps the probe hydrated between readings
- Backlit screen that is readable under HPS, LED or in a dark corner
- Auto-off to protect the battery
How It Solves Grow Problems
Slime, browning roots and a reservoir that smells wrong all show up after the damage is done. A falling ORP reading warns you first, while there is still time to act. If you dose hydrogen peroxide, chlorine or any oxidiser, ORP is also the only way to know whether you have added enough — or far too much. It matters most in recirculating and DWC systems, where one reservoir feeds every plant you own.
How to Use
Fit the probe to the BNC connector and switch the meter on. Rinse the probe in clean water, place it in the solution, and wait for the reading to settle. Take readings at the same point in the cycle each time — ORP moves with temperature and dosing, so the trend tells you more than any single number. Return the probe to its KCl cap after every use; a probe left to dry out is a probe you will be replacing.
