A Bluelab pH pen you repair rather than replace

The Bluelab pH PenPlus is a handheld pH and temperature pen for checking nutrient solutions, reservoirs and runoff. Its big difference from the standard pH Pen is a replaceable pH/temperature probe: when the glass wears out with age, you unscrew it and fit a Bluelab pH ProbePlus instead of buying a whole new meter. A double-junction probe, a bright backlit display and an IP68 dustproof, waterproof body make it a tool for daily use around tanks and trays.

Nutrient lockout from pH you cannot see

Plants only take up nutrients properly while the root zone sits in the right pH window. Let a reservoir or runoff drift too acidic or too alkaline and you get poor nutrient uptake, pale new growth and deficiency symptoms even though the feed is correct. A quick dip before every feed catches that drift early, and a probe you can replace means one worn sensor no longer puts your meter in the bin.

How to Use

• Before first use: soak the probe in the KCl storage solution supplied, then calibrate.
• Calibrate with pH 7.0 then pH 4.0 solution; the pen reminds you every 30 days.
• Measure: rinse the probe, dip it into the solution or runoff, stir gently and read once the value settles.
• Store with a little KCl solution in the silicone cap so the probe never dries out.
• When readings slow or will not calibrate, fit a Bluelab pH ProbePlus replacement probe.
