Stagnant Reservoirs and Struggling Roots
Still, warm nutrient solution loses dissolved oxygen quickly. Roots respond by browning off, poor nutrient uptake sets in and growth slows even though the feed is right. Constant aeration from a correctly sized pump keeps oxygen levels up and water moving, which is the cheapest insurance a hydroponic or DWC system can have.
How to Use
- Place the pump on a level surface above the water line, or fit a non-return valve, so solution cannot siphon back
- Connect 4mm airline from each outlet to an air stone in the reservoir or buckets
- Adjust the dial for a steady, even stream of bubbles from every stone
- Run it continuously - reservoirs need oxygen day and night
