Description
Odour Control That Hangs Outside Your Grow Tent
The CarboAir Inline Carbon Filter from Global Air Supplies (G.A.S.) is for growers who cannot give up the headroom a conventional filter takes. Rather than hanging an open mesh cylinder above the canopy, you duct stale air out of the grow tent or room and through this enclosed steel-cased filter, where a thick bed of virgin activated carbon granules absorbs the volatile organic compounds that carry odour. It has a spigot at each end and a 740mm body, and comes in four duct sizes rated from 900 to 1,600 m³/h.
Key Benefits
- Mounts outside the growing space – frees the tent for the light and the plants, and can still hang inside where room allows.
- Steel case quietens the duct run – the solid shell insulates against the rush of high airflow and fan noise.
- Thick virgin carbon bed – activated granules absorb and neutralise odour-causing VOCs in a single pass.
- No pre-filter needed – G.A.S. designed this model to run without one, so there is no sleeve to wash or replace.
- Hanging lugs fitted – ready for chains or rope ratchets straight out of the box.
- 900 to 1,600 m³/h across 150mm, 200mm, 250mm and 315mm flanges, laboratory tested for quality.
No Room for a Carbon Filter in the Tent?
A standard carbon filter hangs inside the tent, right where the light, the airflow and the plants all compete for space. In a compact tent or a loft room it steals headroom, forces the light closer to the canopy than it should be and crowds the top of the room, and a cramped canopy means poor airflow, pockets of high humidity and the mould and mildew that follow. Moving filtration outside fixes that: the extraction fan draws stale air out through the ducting, the inline filter scrubs it on the way past, and the growing space gets its full height back. Because the case is solid steel rather than open mesh, it also takes some of the whoosh out of the ducting, which matters when extraction runs close to living space.
How to Use
- Pick the size to match your fan's duct diameter, and check the filter's rating sits at or above the airflow the fan actually delivers.
- Hang it from the fitted lugs outside the grow space, as close to the tent as practical, on chains or rope ratchets rated well above its weight.
- Connect it into the extraction run between the tent and the outlet, following the direction arrows on the label.
- Seal every joint with fast clamps or METU clamps so no untreated air slips past the carbon.
- Keep duct runs short with as few bends as possible, so the fan holds its airflow and keeps temperature and humidity in check.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the CarboAir Inline Filter go inside or outside the grow tent?
It is designed to be mounted outside the growing area, with ducting carrying air from the tent or room to the filter. G.A.S. also says it can be used inside the grow space, which helps in small set-ups where a full-size filter will not fit.
Do I need a pre-filter with it?
No. G.A.S. designed this model to work without a pre-filter, so there is no sleeve to wash or replace.
Which size should I choose?
Match the flange to your fan's duct diameter, then check the filter's rating is at or above the airflow your fan actually delivers. If the fan can move more air than the filter is rated for, run it through a speed controller rather than flat out.
Will it make my extraction quieter?
Its solid steel case insulates against the noise of air and fan travelling along the ducting, so it does part of a silencer's job. For the quietest run, pair it with acoustic ducting.
How do I hang it?
Hanging lugs are fitted to the body. G.A.S. lists the filters at roughly 14 to 27kg depending on size, so use chains or rope ratchets rated well above that.
