Description

Even moisture across the whole slab, plant after plant

X-Fibre slabs are Cultilene rockwool grow slabs built for drip-fed systems where consistency across a bench matters more than any single plant. The fibre structure spreads water evenly through the slab and holds a stable saturation level, so every dripper position behaves the same way. Two lengths are available: the 1.0m slab at 1000 x 150 x 75mm and the 1.33m slab at 1330 x 150 x 75mm. Both suit larger plants with substantial root systems and slot straight into standard slab trays and channels.

Key Benefits

  • Uniform saturation - water spreads evenly through the slab rather than channelling to one end.
  • Balanced air-to-water ratio - excess solution drains away while the slab holds working moisture.
  • Two lengths - 1000mm and 1330mm slabs, both 150mm wide and 75mm deep.
  • Made for drip feeding - designed around frequent, measured irrigations.
  • Supports big root systems - the volume and structure suit large, heavy-feeding plants.
  • Efficient nutrient use - even distribution means less solution wasted to runoff.

Why Uneven Moisture Costs You Yield

In a slab system every plant is fed the same, so any variation you see on the bench usually comes from the medium rather than the schedule. Dry pockets stall roots at one end of a slab while saturated zones starve them of oxygen at the other, and the crop finishes ragged. A slab that wets evenly and drains predictably removes that variable, which is why growers chasing uniform results pay attention to fibre structure rather than just slab size.

How to Use

  • Set the slabs into your trays or channels and level them.
  • Soak thoroughly with pH-adjusted nutrient solution and allow to drain.
  • Cut planting holes in the top wrap and set your blocks in.
  • Position drippers so each plant site is irrigated evenly.
  • Monitor runoff volume and EC to dial in irrigation frequency.
