Description

A heavy chrome floor fan that keeps air moving through the whole canopy

The Cyclone Chrome Floor Fan is a floor-standing circulation fan for grow tents, grow rooms and greenhouses, made in 16in and 18in sizes. A powerful motor drives the blades behind a full chrome safety grille, the head tilts so you can aim the air up into the canopy or along a bench, and three speed settings let you run it gently over young plants or flat out once the canopy has filled in. It is built to be reliable and quiet in continuous use, and the chrome finish wipes clean in a humid room.

Key Benefits

  • Three speed settings - match the airflow to the size of the space and the stage of the plants.
  • Tilting head - angle the air across the canopy, under it or along a row of trays.
  • 16in or 18in blades - pick the size that suits a tent or a larger room.
  • Chrome metal build - full safety grille, sturdy floor stand and an easy-clean finish.
  • Quiet, reliable motor - made to run for long hours in a grow space.

Why Does Still Air Cause So Many Problems?

Extraction changes the air in a room, but it does not stir it. Warm, humid air pools around lights and in dense foliage, leaf surfaces stay damp, and that still, moist pocket is exactly where mould and mildew start. Plants grown without moving air also make thin, soft stems. A floor fan running alongside your extraction keeps humidity even across the canopy, breaks up hot spots under the lights, refreshes the air at the leaf surface and gives stems the gentle movement that makes them thicker and stronger.

How to Use

  • Position: stand the fan on a firm, level floor in a corner of the tent or room, clear of water and trailing cables.
  • Aim: tilt the head so the air moves across or just under the canopy rather than blasting the plants at close range.
  • Speed: start on the lowest setting for seedlings and cuttings and raise it as the canopy fills out.
  • Run time: run it while the lights are on, and during the dark period too where humidity climbs.
  • Clean: unplug it and wipe the grille and blades every few weeks so dust does not cut the airflow.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much air does it move?

Cyclone do not publish an airflow figure in m³/h, or a wattage, for either size. What they do state is three speed settings and a tilting head; the 18in has the larger blade of the two for bigger spaces.

Does it oscillate?

Cyclone list a tilting head rather than oscillation, so you set the angle and the fan holds it. If you want air swept from side to side, an oscillating wall or clip-on fan does that job.

Do I still need an extraction fan?

Yes. An extraction fan pulls stale, warm air out of the tent or room; a floor fan only moves the air that is already inside. Run the two together for fresh air and even humidity at the canopy.
