Why pH Matters

If the pH of your feed drifts out of range, plants cannot take up certain nutrients even when they are in the tank, which shows up as nutrient lockout, yellowing, poor nutrient uptake and slow growth. Most hydro and coco growers aim for roughly 5.5–6.5 and soil growers slightly higher, so checking every fresh mix and adjusting with pH up or down is one of the simplest ways to keep plants healthy.

How to Use

• Calibrate first: dissolve a buffer sachet in the stated volume of distilled water, dip the pen and calibrate using the CAL function until it reads the buffer value.
• Measure: remove the cap, dip the electrode into the solution, stir gently and wait for the reading to settle.
• Adjust: correct the feed with pH up or pH down and re-test.
• Care: rinse the tip with clean water after use, replace the cap and recalibrate regularly.
