Air reaches the root zone through the fabric wall, triggering air pruning: when a root tip hits the breathable edge and meets air, it stops elongating and branches into secondary roots instead. The result is far greater root mass, better nutrient uptake and healthier plants. Traditional plastic pots do the opposite - roots circle the smooth sides and choke further growth, stalling plants during critical vegetative stages.
