The Ecotechnics PowerStar Pro 4-Way Contactor combines a heavy-duty relay contactor with a built-in 24-hour timer, so a single compact unit handles both the timed switching and the high-current load of up to four lighting circuits (3kW total). A standard DIY timer isn't rated for HID lighting current and fails quickly under that load — the PowerStar Pro keeps the timer doing only the low-current control job while the internal relay carries the real power.

Running multiple lights off separate plug-in timers means separate points of failure and separate cycles to keep in sync. How to Use
Plug the PowerStar Pro into a suitable supply, set the 24-hour dial to the required on/off segments in 15-minute steps, and connect your lighting ballasts to the four output sockets. Total connected load must stay within the 3kW rating across all four sockets combined.
