Continuous-duty linear diaphragm air pumps for big reservoirs and multi-bucket DWC
The Enviro ET range is a set of British-built linear diaphragm air pumps, made by Charles Austen Pumps in Surrey and distributed in the UK by Hailea. They are oil-free, so the air reaching your nutrient never carries lubricant, and they are rated for continuous duty with a thermal cut-out and a weatherproof case for indoor or outdoor use. Three outputs: ET30 at 30 L/min, ET40 at 40 L/min and ET60 at 60 L/min, all rated at 0.12 bar - enough pressure to push air through deep buckets and long runs of stones. Single outlet; a manifold is not included - add one of our Hailea manifolds to split the feed.

Starved roots at the bottom of the bucket
A low-pressure pump looks fine on one stone in a shallow tank and dies back to a trickle across eight stones in 20-litre buckets, because every centimetre of water depth costs pressure. Dissolved oxygen then falls exactly where the roots are, and root rot follows. The ET's 0.12 bar rating is the number that matters for deep water culture.
How to Use
- Site the pump above the water line or fit a non-return valve, so a power cut cannot siphon nutrient into it.
- Fit a manifold to the single outlet - 14mm on the ET30 and ET40, 18mm on the ET60 - then run 4mm airline to each stone.
- Sizing guide: ET30 about 8-12 stones or reservoirs to roughly 350L; ET40 about 10-16 stones or 500L; ET60 about 16-24 stones or 600L and up.
- Keep the intake filter clean and service the diaphragm every 18 months.
