The Essentials EC Meter is a pocket EC tester for nutrient solutions, reading 0.1 to 10.0 mS at 0.1 mS resolution with automatic temperature compensation. A memory for the last 10 readings lets you log changes in your reservoir or run-off without writing everything down, and it calibrates in seconds with Essentials calibration fluid. It suits hydroponics, coco and soil feeds alike.

Why EC Matters
Feed that is too weak shows up as pale, slow growth; too strong and roots burn, leaf tips brown and nutrient uptake falls away. Salts also build up in the medium over time. Measuring EC every time you mix, and comparing reservoir and run-off readings, catches overfeeding and lockout early, before plant health suffers.
How to Use
- Calibrate by dipping the probe in EC calibration fluid and holding CAL until CAL shows on screen.
- Mix your nutrient solution and stir well.
- Dip the probe, let the reading settle and note or store it.
- Rinse the probe in clean water after use and recalibrate regularly.
