Calcium, Magnesium and Iron Where New Growth Needs Them
Essentials PLUS CalMag is a liquid calcium and magnesium supplement with added chelated iron and nitrate nitrogen (NPK 1.8-0-0). Calcium cannot move from old leaves to new ones, so plants need a steady supply in the feed; magnesium sits at the centre of chlorophyll; iron drives photosynthesis. Used at 1ml per litre alongside any base nutrient, it suits every system and growing medium, from coco and rockwool to soil and hydro.

Soft Water, Coco and Hungry Plants
Soft tap water, reverse osmosis water and coco coir can all leave plants short of calcium and magnesium, and fast vegetative growth under strong light uses them up quickly. The first signs are brown spots, curling new leaves and pale patches between the veins. Adding CalMag to every feed keeps both elements topped up so growth stays healthy and even.
How to Use
- All systems and media: 1ml per litre alongside your main nutrients.
- When to use: through prolonged vegetative growth, with soft or RO water, in coco, or whenever deficiency shows.
- Mixing: add to the water and stir before your base nutrients.
- EC: CalMag raises EC, so check it after adding and adjust your base feed.
- pH: check and adjust afterwards to 5.8–6.5.
