Description

Adjustable-Spectrum Under Canopy Lighting, Ready to Run

The Faven Chroma Under Canopy LED Kit pairs Faven's spectrum-adjustable Chroma bars with the CX2 controller that unlocks them, plus a pair of adjustable stands for every bar, a UK Chroma power cable and the jumper cables each layout needs. Every bar runs a 120W main array tunable from R4 to R9 (roughly 40–90% red) alongside an independent 15W far-red channel, so one set of fixtures can be matched to the top lights, the crop and the stage of growth. Choose the single-bar Starter Kit or one of Faven's own packs, from the 4x4 Kit for a 1.2 × 1.2 m tent or bench up to the Pro Pack XL for a full room.

What's Included

  • Starter Kit (1 Bar): 1 × Faven Chroma bar, 1 × CX2 controller, 1 pair of adjustable stands, 1 × Chroma UK power cable
  • 4x4 Kit (2 Bars): 2 × Chroma bars, 1 × CX2 controller, 2 pairs of adjustable stands, 1 × power cable, 1 × 3 ft jumper cable
  • 4x8 Kit (4 Bars): 4 × Chroma bars, 1 × CX2 controller, 4 pairs of adjustable stands, 1 × power cable, 1 × 3 ft jumper cable
  • Pro Pack (8 Bars): 8 × Chroma bars, 1 × CX2 controller, 8 pairs of adjustable stands, 1 × power cable, 2 × 3 ft jumper cables
  • Pro Pack XL (16 Bars): 16 × Chroma bars, 1 × CX2 controller, 16 pairs of adjustable stands, 1 × power cable, 2 × 3 ft jumper cables

Key Benefits

  • CX2 controller in every kit – dimming, spectrum and far-red scheduling from day one; without it a Chroma bar runs at full power on a fixed spectrum.
  • Tunable R4–R9 spectrum – shift the red balance to suit LED, HPS or greenhouse top light.
  • Independent 15W far-red channel – run and schedule far red separately from the main array, or leave it off.
  • Up to 2.9 µmol/J from an IP66 sealed one-piece housing with an internal driver.
  • One CX2 runs up to 100 bars per line – extend any kit later with single Chroma bars.
  • 5-year Faven warranty on every fixture.

What Happens to a Shaded Lower Canopy?

Top lights lose much of their intensity by the time they reach the middle and bottom of a dense canopy, so lower flowering sites lag behind: smaller, paler and slower to finish than the top. Clearing that growth away costs labour and part of the crop. Chroma bars light the canopy from underneath, adding roughly 35–50 cm of usable canopy depth (Faven's figure is 14–20 in) and improving light penetration and uniformity through the whole plant, while the adjustable spectrum lets you balance the under-canopy light against whatever is overhead.

How to Use

  • Position: clip each bar onto its stand pair at 20, 25 or 30 cm (8, 10 or 12 in) and run it between the plant rows, with the base no lower than the lip of the pot or slab.
  • Connect: link bars end to end along a row, bridge to the next row with the 3 ft jumper, plug the power cable into the first bar and the CX2 into the cable's communication lead.
  • Programme: set intensity and spectrum on the main channel and the far-red level on the second channel, then use the CX2's on and off times to match your top lights, or run it manually.
  • Ramp up: start the bars low as flowering begins and bring them to full power over the first two to three weeks.
  • Target: aim for 500–800 µmol/m²/s in the lower half of the plant and clear any leaves touching or shading the bars.
  • Water and feed: the extra light raises demand – Faven suggest around 10–15% more irrigation volume and about 10% higher EC, adjusted to how the plants respond.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I run a Chroma bar without the CX2?

It will light, but only at full power on a fixed spectrum, with no dimming, spectrum control or far red – which is why every kit includes the CX2. The Faven Mini Controller is not compatible with the Chroma.

Which kit size do I need?

Faven size their packs by footprint: two bars light a 1.2 × 1.2 m (4 × 4 ft) tent or bench and four bars a 1.2 × 2.4 m (4 × 8 ft) area, with the Pro Pack and Pro Pack XL scaling the same density to larger rooms. Single Chroma bars can be added later on the same CX2.

How many bars can one CX2 control?

Up to 100 bars per line (Faven quote 100–150 per unit depending on the layout), so the controller in any kit has plenty of room to expand.

Can I use a different controller?

Yes. Faven list GrowFlux (wireless, app-based, with remote access), approved RS485 digital adapters and 0-10V systems as compatible. The CX2 is the simple standalone option and has no remote access.

What is the far-red channel for?

It runs on its own channel with its own level and schedule, so far red can be added alongside the main array, run on its own at the end of the light period, or left off entirely while you trial what suits your room.
