Keep your reservoir and root zone free of pythium, all season long
Pythoff is a nutrient-solution steriliser built to stay active for longer than standard sterilising agents. Once dissolved into the reservoir it works on every wetted surface it reaches - tanks, pump housings, drip lines, growing media and the roots themselves - rather than treating the water alone. That matters because pythium and other root pathogens don't just live in solution; they colonise pipework, filters and substrate, and a steriliser that only treats the visible water misses the source of most reinfections.
Add it to the reservoir on every fresh mix as a preventative measure, or step up the dose rate at the first sign of a pythium outbreak - wilting despite wet media, brown or slimy root tips, a sour smell from the tank. It's non-systemic, so it's suitable right through to harvest, including for growers working to organic protocols that rule out systemic chemistry. It performs across recirculating hydro, drip and flood-and-drain coco setups and in soil irrigation lines equally well.
One practical note: Pythoff doesn't play well with hydrogen peroxide or any beneficial bacteria/fungi product (mycorrhizae, Trichoderma and similar) - running it alongside either will undo both. Keep it as a standalone reservoir treatment and, if you're using a biological inoculant, alternate rather than combine.
- Sterilises tanks, pumps, drip lines, media and roots - not just the nutrient solution
- Stays active in the reservoir for longer than standard sterilising agents
- Non-systemic, so safe to use from seed through to harvest
- Suitable for organic-compliant growing where systemic chemicals aren't permitted
- Works across hydroponic, coco and soil irrigation systems
- Helps prevent blocked drippers, jets and filters caused by biological build-up
