This 8" (200mm) flat circular air stone is built to oxygenate serious volumes of nutrient solution. The wide, flat disc sits neatly on the bottom of the tank on rubber feet, and the protective casing shields the porous stone from knocks. Across that full 200mm surface it releases fine, consistent bubbles that lift dissolved oxygen and keep the whole reservoir turning over rather than sitting still. It takes a non-standard 8mm airline and needs a high-output air pump to drive it, which is what makes it a large-tank component rather than a small propagation part.

Why Does Dissolved Oxygen Matter in a Reservoir?

In hydroponics, oxygen is as important as the feed itself. Roots in still, poorly oxygenated solution cannot take up nutrients properly, so you get slow growth and weak roots even when EC and pH look right, and low oxygen invites the anaerobic conditions behind most root problems. Constant aeration keeps dissolved oxygen high and the root zone aerobic.

How to Use

• Position: lay the stone flat on the bottom of the reservoir, fully submerged
• Connect: attach to your air pump using 8mm airline tubing (non-standard size)
• Pump: use a high-output air pump, as an undersized pump will not supply the whole disc
• Run time: leave it running continuously, day and night
• Maintenance: rinse the stone between crops so the pores do not clog and output stays even
